The crèche caters for preschool children aged between one and four years old. It allows parents to leave their wee ones in a secure place while they enjoy the Sunday meetings.

Our passion is working with young children and seeing them growing to know about God.

We aim to provide a safe, friendly, caring atmosphere for each child who visits us.

The team is headed by Pearl Abraham and Audrey Coulter. Several measures are in place to ensure the crèche is a safe environment –

•  Leaders are trained in childcare.
•  All personnel go through child protection procedures.
•  Children are signed in by parents, and doors are locked.

A variety of activities take place –

•  Free play (with large and small equipment e.g. slide, tractors, push-along toys).
•  Role play (with dolls, kitchen).
•  Structured play (jigsaws, playdoh).

We seek to provide a variety of toys for the children to play with, promoting their physical, educational and imaginative wellbeing.

We would like each child from 2 1/2 years of age to take part in a variety of creative activities aimed at developing their social/emotional wellbeing –

•  Short times of singing, action songs or rhymes.
•  Short story times.
•  Movement times – games, dancing.
•  Colouring in, painting or craft projects.

We also offer the children a small snack during both our morning and evening sessions.

The children are encouraged to take part in whatever is happening.

We want to have a relaxed environment where the children are exposed to their first steps outside the family setting in knowing God.

We hope that this first steps class will result in –

•  The child developing a simple trust in God.
•  The child entering Sunday school ready to know and take part in more traditional lessons.
•  The adult leaders and helpers growing in their relationship with God.
