Life

My wee Mum just lost her best friend and her only sister in the one week. The funerals were one day after each other and as I looked at both the long lives of these people I actually began to think of how short they really were. I find it hard to watch my Mum lose a generation around her because that's what's happening.
Two weeks today and Jill will be gone a year and while many people say they dont know where the year has gone, I do. My big son put it like this the other night as we chatted, Dad it's been like 5 years, seems like Mum has been gone forever.
The old Hymn writer hit it right when he wrote, "Life at best is very brief".
Sorry if I'm a bit morbid this morning, just thinking!

phil my heart feels so soft toward you at this difficult time and for your kids and jill's mum and sister. All i can do is quote the hymn title, 'O God our help in ages past, our hope for years to come' i hope this brings some comfort to you all and keep on loving your wee mum, she is a gem.
