Cool or what

I couldn't help but notice the starry sky last night, it seems like there are millions of them. As I stood and looked up at them I was taken back about how small I was in such a vast universe. I wondered, God, why do you bother with me when you created all this? Yet the Psalmist says "The stars declare your handiwork".
I remember having a similar experience this year back in January. I stood in India out in the wilds under the Southern Hempisphere which seems to have multi millions of stars in it and I wondered the same thing.
I reminded myself of Hebrews 12:2 "Now looking unto Jesus, the Author and Finisher of our faith. Who for the joy that was set before Him, endured the cross, dispising the shame...".
THE JOY SET BEFORE HIM, man I love that phrase. You know folks, that joy was not creation in all its beauty and slendour of nature as we know it, it was not the mountains and valleys of this earth, not the majestic animal kingdom. You guessed it, it was you and me. When Jesus went to the cross He was not thinking about how many galaxys there was no, He was thinking about YOU and ME. Cool or what!
