Driven
Todays average life span is 25,550 days, that dosn't sound like an aweful lot when you start to count it in days. It makes me want my life to have purpose because thats what will drive you. If you have purpose you cannot leave the present as it is. I love the message version of Proverbs 11:28 "A Life devoted to things is a dead life, a stump. A God shaped life is a flourishing tree".
Driven by THINGS, not that exciting is it to devote your life to Things, but God, now that's different and maybe even dangerous. Maybe this morning it would be good to ask yourself, What drives your life?
Some people are DRIVEN by guilt, these people are manipulated by memories, they allow their past to control their future! They sabotage their own success and have no understanding of forgiveness. Listen, sin disconnects you from God but God specializes in giving people fresh starts. Moses and David where murderers, Gideon was a coward with no self image.
Psalm 32:1 says "What happiness for those whose guilt has been forgiven...what relief for those who have confessed their sins and God has cleared their record". Romans 8:1 says "There is no condemnation to those that are in Christ Jesus". So GET RID of the guilt.
Some people are DRIVEN by resentment and anger. Holding on to hurt and never getting over it. Instesd of releasing their pain through forgiveness they grow it bigger by rehearsing it over and over in their minds. I have found two types of people like this, the ones that clam up and the ones that blow up. Those who have hurt you in the past can no longer hurt you unless you allow it through resentment. For you today I and more importantly God says, LET IT GO. More tomorrow about DRIVEN

Hi Phil,
Someone once said "He who cannot forgive breaks the bridge over which he himself cannot pass" I guess forgiveness is a tough one huh? I was annoyed yesterday as I scrolled through your blogs. One of the days had 34 responses and I could not believe some of the comments that people had said. I think you are amazing for sticking your neck out there and being open and honest about what God is doing in your life. I bless you 1000%. Love ya
The Word of God is so amazing...sometimes I start feeling sorry for myself, thinking that I'm being punished for sins of my past- but the word which you focused on today has reminded me that God has forgiven my sins- I am saved by his precious grace- He died to give me new life- its there for us all to take. Boy, that's sure cheered me up! :-) all honour to the Lord!
