The Builder

I have been looking at all the building going on around the country at the moment and wondering were it will all stop. Mind you it's good to see prosperity in our land and in peoples lives.
I have been reminded of the nature of God as I look around because He is a builder, He has always been in the process of builing something.
1. In Genesis 1;1 God is building an earth and the heavens as we know them, the very first words in the Bible, "In the beginning God Created". God is at work on something at our first introduction to Him, some feel He stopped after that week but let's explore.
2. Genesis 12:1-3 God turns up for work again and He annouces to a guy called Abraham that through him He is going to BUILD a nation like the stars of the sky or the sands on the sea shore, quite a task don't you think. And if you think that was quite enough.
3. 1 Peter 2:4 Gods at the building site again ready for action, what's He building this time? Well He's building a church that the gates of hell won't be able to prevail against. Building people, you and I as LIVINGSTONES into a heavenly house. Now just in case your not happy with the church that God has been building, I often say it's like Noah's ark, might get smelly on the inside but it's a darn sight better than whats going on on the outside. Wow this God of ours can build, there's more.
4. John 14:1,2 Just in case you thought God had retired and was sitting in His rocker waiting on you to turn up, no chance. He's at the building site again, Jesus said "I go to prepare a place for you". "Many Mansions". God always overbuilds.
Here's my thought for today, next time you feel like building something, should it be a house, an extention, a dog pen or a lego tower with your kid remember, you were made in the likeness of God, He likes to BUILD.

Loved your thoughts today Philip. Know what I was thinking this morning? Was watching Caitlin and Ella through the car window - they were unaware that I was watching them and were busy just doing their thing. But I was just in awe of how cool they are and how amazing they are and how proud I am of them, and it occurred to me that, just maybe, God looks in on His creation when we're not aware of it, and thinks how cool we are and how proud He is of His handiwork... And we're just doing our thing, not entirely conscious that the Almighty Creator is looking down at what He has built and smiling... Love you, Phil
