Confidence

Yesterday was the first time I spoke in church since Jill died. I must admit I was nervous. I felt I had lost all confidence but as the week wore on I kept reminding myself that I shouldn’t have confidence in myself anyway. My confidence and trust should be in the Lord. Psalms 20:7 reminds us that “some trust in horses, some in chariots but we will trust in the name of the Lord our God.
Are you depending on your strength to get the job done?
Can I tell you, I thought I was strong until 8 weeks ago then I realized that the only confidence I had was in the Lord my God and there have been times when I have been grasping that with my finger tips. Philippians 3:3 says “Rejoice in Christ Jesus and have no confidence in the flesh.
I am keeping trusting, keeping holding on, waiting on my breakthrough. My CONFIDENCE is in HIM.
Hope you have a great week.
Love yas

Hi Philip! I was at home with the girls last night, so we prayed that you would be OK with speaking - and Marty said you did great. We're so proud of you.

You said last Monday that you would welcome prayer requests from us bloggers, so am wondering if you would pray for Ella - she has to go back to the Royal on Wednesday to have her thumb checked out - reckon we got a miracle the last time when surgery was avoided, so please pray that it'll be avoided again - don't think I could watch her 'going under'!!

Thanx Phil, love ya big!

J!

Hi Phil...what an encouragement and inspiration your blog is to so many, not least to me. It's laced with such honesty and vulnerability..Thanks for being so real...As I've read your blog, I've been thinking of what Corrie Ten Boom said 'There's no pit deep that He's not deeper still'...Praying for you to know God's strength each day and that you continue to feel his embrace as you wait on breakthrough...love Gilly

Phil your are a true living Testimony to what it means to "Put Your Total Confidence in God". Last night was a challenge for everyone! Myself included, thanks for being a Great Pastor, Mate & Friend. After last night the woman i had sat beside turned round to me and said "it's great to see Philip back doing what He's Called to do!" How True! You're a Great Pastor and Preacher and The Reason You are is because You have let God Be The GREAT! Love ya!

Hey Pastor Phil read this today and thought of you! PSALM 91 (MSG)
2Say this: "GOD, you're my refuge.
I trust in you and I'm safe!"

3That's right--he rescues you from hidden traps, shields you from deadly hazards.
4His huge outstretched arms protect you--under them you're perfectly safe;his arms fend off all harm.
5Fear nothing--not wild wolves in the night, not flying arrows in the day,6Not disease that prowls through the darkness, not disaster that erupts at high noon.
7Even though others succumb all around, drop like flies right and left,no harm will even graze you.
8You'll stand untouched, watch it all from a distance, watch the wicked turn into corpses.
9Yes, because GOD's your refuge, the High God your very own home,10Evil can't get close to you, harm can't get through the door.
11He ordered his angels to guard you wherever you go.12If you stumble, they'll catch you;their job is to keep you from falling.
13You'll walk unharmed among lions and snakes, and kick young lions and serpents from the path.14"If you'll hold on to me for dear life," says GOD,"I'll get you out of ANY trouble.I'll give you the BEST of care if you'll only get to KNOW and TRUST me.

15Call me and I'll answer, be at your side in bad times;I'll rescue you, then throw you a party.

16I'll give you a long life, give you a long drink of salvation!"

Hugs and prayers hope you have a good week.
Leanne

Hi Philip

Great to see you back up where you belong and your message was so powerful. I know it was so hard for you but God is shinning through you every time I see you. Your roots are firmly fixed and when the storm came you didn't fall. Not sure there are to many of us could say that. Still in our thoughts and prayers everyday.
