Chelsea

Just watched Chelsea lift the title there - hard for a Liverpool supporter to watch but worthy winners you have to conceed. we are getting closer though and could maybe even snatch second but winning the FA cup would be a nice end to the season.

Our season finished last night - drew 0-0 with distillery. Sort of glad to have a few tuesday, thursday and saturdays of for a while as long as it does not involve going shopping instead!!
Our end of season awards tonight so hopefully should be a good night.

Beautiful day today eh? Spent a bit of time this morning in the park - so beautiful Lurgan park here on our own doorstep and i forget about that sometimes. Talking with my good friend Adrian today and he said that he was reading somewhere that to many leaders are focusing on the future that they fail to live in the now. Today strolling around the park i am asking God for a contentment with the 'now.' Not that thinking about the future is worng - it is good to have vision, we need it - but when we focus so much on it that we forget about the 'now' we fail to see God in the world and the lives around us. We fail to see the lives God is doing stuff in or how he wants to use us to bring His beauty to these lives. Maybe we even miss Him in our lives.

I am coming to learn that when Jesus said he could give us life to the full he was not saying that it was going to be an easy ride through life but rather we would enter into life in its fullest sense. In other words we could experience the mystery of God in the joy of watching our dreams come to pass but also in the pain and distress life sometimes brings. We can feel alive inside even in the earthiness and ordinariness of life. Being a christian i think is not about being detached from real life but being a christian is entering into that life more fully....the joy of it and in a mysterious way the pain as well.

Sorry for ranting. Heading up to a art exhibition tonight in cafe vaudville with john mac and then going to a meeting for my friend William. Will let you know how it goes.

Trying to Chill

Trying to take it a bit easier this week after the madness of last week. Finding plenty to do in work - loads of things to get sorted - but nice to come home tonight and have a bit of space to cut the lawn!! Writing this around at my uncle Phils - he really is one of my biggest heros - keep praying for him. Talk more tomorrow.

This past week has been an incredible one. gLo was absolutley amazing - over one hundred young people out on the streets of Lurgan trying to be Jesus. This prayer-filled sacrificial community seeking for epiphanies of the Almighty in little old Lurgan is gathering strength. The army is increasing in size and in stature - you see bones, i see an army. This army loves their Captain and their cry in is the heavenly shout of 'C' mon!'
Well done to all you guys who visited old people, cleaned gardens, ran the kids club, hung out with teenagers, coached football and painted murals. Let's make this kind of living a lifestlye. I love the rawness and lack of religion there is when we get together - i feel priviledged to be part of it and when we worship God together it feels goood to be alive. Pray as if it all depends on God and live like it all depends on you.

from gLo it was straight into our mission fundraiser last night. Wow - another great night. we managed to raise approx 17000 pounds towards our trip to Uganda. A massive thank-you to the team for pulling together so well and making the night such a success.

I should say in between all this we managed to get beat 2-0 by Linfield!! Ah well!! One more game to go and then we get a break!!

So today i am a bit knackered - running on empty but full of hope - i feel alive inside me. Knowing Jesus brings that deepest kind of joy we can find and being part of a kingdom of hope faith and love that seeks to bring the beauty of God to the world is LIFE IN ITS FULLNESS.

Leave me a comment!!

Had a great night at church last night. Our special Easter Sunday service went off with a real bang. The guys all did brilliant and thankfully all the techincal stuff went real smooth.

Our 40days of prayer have ended with the culmination of Lent at the weekend and while it felt great to eat sweet stuff again more than anything i felt inside i was going to spontaneously combust with a sense of the victory of Jesus. It was as if it had been building within me over the last 40 days and just had to come out!! It is a strange time though - this almost tangible sense of God i feel within me at this time is being balanced with the questions and sadness surrounding my aunty Jill's death. I know God is in control but trusting Him is difficult especially as you watch people that mean so much to you experience such severe pain and loss. I have not a clue about grief i have learned, words fail and cliches are the worst ever. Pray for Philip, lisa, amy, debbie and philly - that they may find some comfort and somehow come to know that God enters and is found in broken places.

Got the day off today - feels great!! Starting to feel a bit stressed this week about glo next week and our big auction night next saturday. Had to ask God for some peace and grace!! In saying this we had great times of prayer this week from 8-9 every morning. I really did enjoy it and felt God as we sought Him. It was so encouraging to see all you guys getting out of your beds in the morning to pray.

Getting a new lab-top today and it has wireless on it which means i can be really cool from now on - sitting in starbucks with a latte and blogging on my wireless connected computer!!
