24-5 prayer Lurgan
At midnight on Sunday we commenced a month of 24-5 prayer in our town, Lurgan. I am really excited about this prayer initaitive as nearly all the churches in Lurgan have backed it and already the first week is pretty much filled. I dont have all the answers when it comes to prayer but it does seem the norm that when we pray stuff usually happens. I have had this little phrase running through my head over the last month, 'Jesus wants us to join Him in a ministry of intercession for the world.' I have this picture which is inspired by Scripture of Jesus interceding for the world and the people He loves. We are told that He lives to make intercession for us. The thought that Jesus is on His knees praying for me has kept me alive over the last months. But now as He continues to heal my heart I hear Him whisper to me to come and join Him in praying for the world and the brokenness of it.
I want to see God move in my town. I believe He is, but I want to see it more. I want to see our town of Lurgan transformed through the love of Jesus and the power of His cross. We have seen God gather an army of young people who are prepared to move outside the traditional lines of denomination, bow the knee together in unity and pray that God would come and move in our town.
So now we have invited the whole church to get involved and for a month now we are seeking to fill every hour with prayer. Four different churches will host a week of prayer during the month and this will culminate finally in the holy week meetings for the churches in our town, the week before Easter.
If you are about and can sign up for a slot where you simply 'keep watch' in the prayer room with God, on your own (!!), for an hour. You can sign up on the internet at http://www.glolurgan.com/

Have to say lad I'm now in Lurgan nearly every day and what a dump it is... Thankfully God loves it just the same and no less than he does Ballynahinch!! Fancy breakfast some time?
