true - Wednesday 8pm@Emmanuel - come along!!

Starting something tommorow night (Wednesday 19th @8pm, Emmanuel Church) in church I am excited about. I am not sure what is going to come of it but at the minute it feels like God is taking us somewhere with it. It is called true and it about creating a space for a community of people to come together to explore how we can be more true to the ways of Jesus. It is a Christ-centered community based grappling with the teachings of Jesus and His descriptions of the Kingdom of the heavens. We are fascinated and intrigued by this myteriously beautiful kingdom of God as it shows up in the broken places of this messy world and we are passionate about joining in with it as it makes it way through the world.

So our desire is to form a missional community that will go on a journey of growing in our understanding of the kingdom, as well as inspiring each other to new and prophetic expressions of mission amongst the poor and the lost.

It starts as 8pm in our church, Emmanuel but is in no way exclusive to our church - in fact we would love to model something that is defined by a wide range of people and backgrounds. It will probably be based around the 18-40 age group but again not exclusively. Any one interested in this kind of stuff and exploring mission would be so valued. It is a relaxed and informal environment with a conversational style teaching format and discusson based. Be great to see ya - come along!!

From your speaking last night it seems we share the same view on some things. sorry for having to write this on your blog, but I don't have an email address. Drop me a line at mine so I can get your details, I have some things I wanna say... my email is jonny@jonny-mac.com

Again fantastic, I feel is was a taster of things to come.

    Great to have met you.

  • hi alain

wanted to encourage you about mannafest this month. i wasn't there but it seems loadsa young people from antrim grasped hold of something good about God. quality!

saw you at edenmore last week and wanted to grab you to tell you that but didn't get the opportunity to as think we were always in the midst of conversations.

"true" seems really interesting. i'd be keen to pop along at some stage to catch hold of what your doing there. thanks for making it open to random outside punters like me.

  • Alain,

To get people interested in Mission, and exploring what God wants for them is something very dear to our hearts. I praise God for giving people like yourself the honest and integrity to lay your life on the alter to teach the truth to the people in this world. Our prayers are with you here in Mexico!
