Holidays

After a busy but amazing week spent in Lurgan Junior High with over 200 year 10s, and a team bonding day on saturday for the team going to Uganda I am now relaxing in Costa Blanca, celebrating my anniversary with Lins. Has been a nice couple of days, doing nothing, watching footie and sunning myself, although the weather could be better. Unfortunatley a tad overcast. Just had the most amazing Indian meal and watched Brazil game...this is the life!!

  • Alain,
Really felt both you and Philip were speaking to me in church on Sunday night. As a single parent, it's not always easy to find enough time in the day to spend time reading Ben's bible etc with him - he always prays, but it's the other things I slack on. On Sunday night, Philip said 'the greatest gift a parent can give their kids is to teach them about the love of God'. This played on my mind all night, as I asked myself 'am I doing enough?'

When I got home, I asked Ben if he thought I had taught him about the love of God and he never replied. Instead, he sobbed for half an hour solid, and when I asked why, he said 'because God is so wonderful'. Coming from a 6 year old, I thought this was truly God-inspired, and am comforted that I have at least done my job to some extent! We have since decided to get up half an hour earlier each morning and spend time reading our bibles and praying together before school/work - which Ben calls our 'Heaven time'. I believe God has great plans for his young life - please pray he grows up to know more about the love of God and pray for me as I help him on his journey.

    God bless, Lindsay
