The GOSPEL OF CHRIST Church in Tirana was started in November 2001 by Pastor Akil and Lindita Pano (along with children Deborah & Jonathan). God has blessed the growth of this church and today it pastors 100 members.

Six cell groups gather once a week to study the Word of God, and the church meets most mornings at 7 am to pray together.

Our vision is to be a church that will transform the community because of life with Christ; to be a centre church, training disciples and planting new churches.

Radio broadcasts

God has opened doors to preach the Gospel of Jesus Christ through the radio. Three different radio stations broadcast messages of Pastor Akil twice a day, 5 days a week.

Humanitarian work

Albania is the second poorest country in Europe . We count it very important to meet not only spiritual needs, but also physical needs. By the grace of God and with the help of brothers and sisters in Northern Ireland , we have opportunities to help hundreds of poor families.

Education

Since October 2002 God has opened the way for us to start the only Christian Kindergarten and primary school in Tirana. Even though we have had a lot of opposition from the government, this school has been a blessing for many kids and their families. Many people have heard the Gospel through this work.

Other ministries include - children, sports, arts, summer camp.

The church also reaches out into five areas around the capital city of Tirana - Kamez, Babrru, Shkoze, Laprake and Bregu i Lumit (a gipsy community).

Several families in these areas have opened up their homes for the Lord, allowing groups from the church to visit every week and hold Bible studies.

Pray that churches will be established in these areas and the believers encouraged in their faith.

Albania is over 70% Muslim. Christians number only 0.25% of the population. Located in the Balkan region, it is a bridge between the West and the Muslim world.

Praise God that Albania is now open to the Gospel after years of Communist rule.

Pray for revival in this land. Pray that it will no longer be known for poverty, but for faith in Jesus Christ.
